ONONDAGA COUNTY, NEW YORK - Local apple orchard Beak & Skiff, and wellness educator K.K. Discovers, have just teamed up as a part of the 'ProJect LoVe' movement to fuse their logos for their new apparel line, 'Good Apple'. Beginning October 5th, 'Good Apple' will launch, featuring the grafted logo seen above, in-store at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards, as well as on their online shop. For a limited time, customers will have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts available in men's and women's sizes S - XXL, with 100% of the profit going to three distinct and impactful programs established by another local organization, PEACE, Inc.
Kelly Kinahan, founder of K.K. Discovers, worked diligently with Marianne Brennan, co-owner of Beak & Skiff, to jumpstart this campaign. "I love 'love' and supporting our community. I love that a simple idea – a simple act – can bring people together, and together we are all stronger. It was my connection to Marianne that lead to this collaboration with K.K. Discovers and the ProJect LoVe mission. I love how people throughout our community and beyond come to Beak & Skiff to support their efforts, enjoy a variety of apples and other staples while creating lasting memories. Through the 'Good Apple' campaign, all of us can show how a simple act can truly make a positive impact on the lives of others. We selected high-quality apparel so that those who wear it feel good (inside and out) knowing their purchase is going right back into the community we love!"
Kinahan went on to explain her connection to PEACE, Inc., "Marianne and I wanted to support a local non-profit with programs that support the youth in our county. Our research, and a good friend and neighbor of mine, lead us to PEACE, Inc. where Sharon Thompson discussed all of the programs they provide our community throughout Onondaga County. I didn't realize all they do. Marianne and I selected 3 out of 20+ programs focusing on a few that support children."
Those few will include 'Head Start', 'Family Resource Centers', and 'Big Brother Big Sister'. 'Head Start' is a program dedicated to helping children, ages 3-5 years-old, achieve their full potential by providing early childhood development, health, family services. 'Family Resource Centers' provide emergency assistance, advocacy, employment support, youth activities, and family development for low-income individuals in neighborhoods all throughout Onondaga County. And 'Big Brother Big Sister' serves to improve the lives of school-aged children through a variety of mentoring programs including school-based, workplace, and one-to-one mentoring.
"There are families throughout our community that need our help. PEACE, Inc. provides valuable resources that help to provide for families and children in need while empowering them to become self-sufficient." K.K. Discovers and Beak & Skiff are deeply involved within their communities and wish to support Onondaga county through this new apparel line.
To show your support you can venture down to Beak & Skiff's Apple Orchards store or online shop to grab your own 'Good Apple' clothing. In doing so, you are directly giving back to your community. It's simple and powerful.
All proceeds go toward supporting PEACE INC., a local non-profit organization, and their efforts to help the community.
